Open access journal for engineering innovations and applications
Journal key title „Istraživanja i projektovanja za privredu“, which was initially registered with the ISSN base, in 2011 has been supported by alternative (parallel) title „Journal of Applied Engineering Science“ due to the Editorial Board decision to totally go into English language. Data about the ISSN registration of printed and online editions of the journal are available at the previous links.
AIMS AND SCOPE
Journal of Applied Engineering Science (JAES) is an international journal devoted to improving and disseminating research findings in the use of engineering methods, techniques, and technologies, with a focus on findings in the areas of energy efficiency and renewable energy applications. Particularly interesting areas for the Journal of Applied Engineering Science are:
Mechanical engineering – Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Materials science, Robotics and control systems, Manufacturing and production, Design and analysis, Fluid mechanics, Maintenance;
Civil engineering – Construction materials, Structural engineering, Transportation infrastructure engineering, Construction engineering and management;
Transportation – Transportation planning, Traffic engineering, Intelligent transportation systems (ITS), Transportation infrastructure, Public transportation, Logistics.
These sub-areas represent a guideline, but do not limit authors from submitting manuscripts in other specialized areas within the defined scope.
JAES follows new trends and proven practices in the listed fields, thus creating a unique forum for interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary dialogues.
The journal is intended for researchers, academics, engineers, industry professionals, and postgraduate students working in mechanical, civil, transportation, and related engineering disciplines.
Initial Screening and Scope Fit
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal's scope, originality, scientific contribution, methodological soundness, and compliance with the journal's submission requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's scope or minimum quality requirements are rejected without external peer review. Only manuscripts considered suitable proceed to the external peer-review process.
Editorial Performance Indicators (2025)
JAES is committed to editorial transparency. The following metrics reflect journal performance for the 2025 period:
Acceptance Rate: 16 % (based on all submitted manuscripts, including desk rejections).
Time to First Decision: 68 days (average).
